What is Your Maryland Contractors?
Your Maryland Contractors is a premium site that is focused on providing maximum business opportunities for our advertising Contractors.

How does the site work?
We allow twelve (12) contractors to advertise in each category of each county. Once the list is full, you can be placed on a waiting list and will be notified if a spot becomes available. Homeowners will use one of two search options to locate a Contractor. They will either search by County and Category or by Contractor’s Business name. For more details, please see our “how it works” section.

Why is there a limit on the number of contractors?
Maryland Contractors Guide is not like all the other Contractor sites on the web. We want to remain a unique and exclusive advertising site to our Contractors. Other sites allow an unlimited amount of Contractors to advertise. Their advertising policies are a bit different than ours. Paying clients do have the ability to include links to their website, upload pictures, and enter detailed information about their business, but they are placed in alphabetical order among all the other Contractors in that area. There is nothing that helps the paying clients stand above the rest. Therefore, a Homeowner will go to that site, choose their category and/or county, and will start calling from the top of the list. On Your Maryland Contractors, we limit the amount of businesses that can advertise with us. This ensures that the Homeowners will view those who do advertise with us, as they visit each category and county. There will be a maximum list of 12 Contractors for them to choose from.

What makes Maryland Contractor’s Guide unique?
The most important reason is that we are exclusive to the state of Maryland. We do not place our clients on a huge database with a multitude of Contractors from all over the United States. We also limit the amount of clients that we accept for each category of each county. This ensures that the Homeowner that visits their county and category views each Contractor. We do not charge for “leads”. Leads are on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a Homeowner submits a project, it is available for viewing until 3 Contractors place their bids. We also require that each Contractor specialize in a trade so that when a Homeowner chooses them from our website, they can feel confident that they are getting an Expert!

What if I would like to advertise in more than one county or category?
We do allow Contractors to advertise in up to two (2) categories in two (2) counties, IF they are available. We ask that you choose a category that you specialize in so our Homeowner is truly getting an expert when they contact you. However, if you do specialize in more than one trade, we will allow, for an additional fee, up to 2 categories in up to 2 counties. Please contact us for further information on the fees.

What happens if my county or category is unavailable?
If the county or category you choose is unavailable, you can choose to place your name on our waiting list and once the county or category becomes available, you will be contacted.

How can a Homeowner find me?
When a Homeowner visits our site, they can choose to search for a Contractor by one of two options. They can search by county or by the Contractor’s Business Name.

Can Homeowners rate the work a Contractor does for them?
Yes, a Homeowner can submit a review based on the Contractor’s performance. They are encourages to rate the business after their project is finished.

What happens if a review is negative?
Should a negative review be submitted, Your Maryland Contractor is responsible for contacting the Contractor to make sure the information is correct. No profanity, fraudulent or inaccurate information will be tolerated. If we find the information submitted by the Homeowner contains profanity, or false information, we will have it removed. However, if we find that the Homeowner is justified in the information he has submitted, and the Contractor has misrepresented himself/herself, Your Maryland Contractors has the right to terminate an account and the membership fee that has been paid will be forfeited.

What are “free leads”?
Free leads are projects that are submitted by Homeowners who are looking for Contractors to place bids on what work needs to be completed. They will submit their project, giving information such as when the job needs to be started and completed, and what work is entailed. Once submitted, it will be emailed to the first three contractors in the County and category that the homeowner chose. Then the next project will go to the next three and so on.

How to I become a member?
You can become a member by clicking on any “sign-up now” link and filling out your information. Of course, you must follow certain criteria: have been in business over 5 years, have a valid license, and specialize in a particular category.
